The production of fine wine has flourished in Livermore Valley since the 19th century. The Cresta Blanca Winery which was born in 1882 is one of the oldest and most renowned of the area as its first vintage of 1884 won the Grand Prix at the Paris Exposition held in 1889.  Ironically, but not without merit, even in an area as well respected for wineries as the San Francisco Bay area with nearby notables such as Sonoma Valley and Napa Valley, Livermore Valley produced the first California wine to win a competition in France. The prohibition crippled the wineries for obvious reason, but with that limited exception, wine has carried this region ever since. The temperature is Mediterranean here in Livermore Valley, as it is located on the eastern edge of San Francisco's Bay Area.  Typically the summers range between 70 to 80 degrees, rarely pass 100 degrees (less than 12 times on average per year) and sit comfortably close to the California coastline. This area defines the California Wine Experience, call us today and let us show you why!
